Highlands Unlimited operates in Unit 77 in Southwest Colorado's San Juan National Forest where hunting elevations range from 7,000' to 10,000' in the pristine roadless Piedra Wilderness Area. At Highlands Unlimited the hunter is the first and foremost priority of the packers & guides.  The equipment and livestock are all of top quality which will greatly increase the hunter's chance of success. The variety of hunting options makes a Southwest Colorado elk or mule deer hunt viable for all hunters. |

Drop Camps - GPS Assisted Hot Spots Our most basic and popular hunts, these are fully equipped, turnkey operations.
A large kitchen tent contains all the necessary amenities to insure comfortable dining and efficient cooking areas. Separate sleep tents are equipped with wood stoves, cots, and pads. The hunter and his gear are packed in on horseback and his game is packed out from the point of kill. All the hunter needs is his personal gear, food, and motivation for a great hunt. These hunts operate out of a normal drop camp with the aid of predetermined locations programmed into your Global Positioning System. These locations are monitored and graphed for months before your hunt occurs. The areas are then pinpointed on a normal USGS topo quad and provided to the hunter. This is Highlands Unlimited's answer to the semi-guided hunt with fully guided information. |
